Fellowship

edit

By John Simpson •

A position, status, or association involving membership of a fellowship or body of Fellows; more generally, companionship or association with others sharing an interest or purpose. In universities and colleges, a fellowship may involve teaching, research, governance, or residence, while an honorary fellowship recognises distinction without necessarily carrying academic or governing duties. A fellowship may also mean a grant or award supporting academic study or research.
