Member of the Royal College of Physicians

edit

By John Simpson •

Historically, a physician admitted to membership of the London College of Physicians, founded by Royal Charter in 1518. Members ranked below Fellows, and membership became associated with examination during the nineteenth century. Today, MRCP(UK) is a postgraduate medical qualification awarded jointly by the Royal Colleges in London, Edinburgh, and Glasgow after successful completion of a three-part examination.
