Freemasonry

Members of Freemasonry, a fraternal organisation whose members meet in lodges and follow traditions of initiation, ceremony, moral teaching, fellowship, and charity. By the nineteenth century, local lodges operated under governing Grand Lodges, drawing members from varied occupations and social backgrounds. The term denotes membership of Freemasonry rather than a particular rank or office within it.
