Moral Science
editThe study of human thought, conduct, and society, as distinct from the study of the physical world. In nineteenth-century British universities, particularly Cambridge, the term covered subjects including philosophy, psychology, economics, and ethics. It was commonly used in the singular to denote the field generally, while Moral Sciences was used for the Cambridge range of subjects and its associated Tripos.
