College of Arms

The official heraldic authority for England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, responsible for granting and recording coats of arms, maintaining pedigrees, genealogical research, and ceremonial duties. First incorporated by Richard III in 1484, it was re-incorporated under Philip and Mary in 1555. Its heralds operate under Crown authority. The College remains active at 130 Queen Victoria Street, London.
