Commissioners of Woods

Members of the Commissioners of Woods, Forests and Land Revenues, established in 1810 to manage Crown woods, forests, and land revenues. From 1832, they also administered public works and buildings. The Crown Lands Act 1851 separated these functions, creating separate Commissioners of Works and Public Buildings. The Commissioners of Woods, Forests and Land Revenues were succeeded by the Commissioners of Crown Lands in 1924.
