Constitutional Club
editA London gentlemen’s club founded in 1883 as a major Conservative political club, partly to accommodate the growing number of Conservative supporters enfranchised by the 1884 Reform Act. It was in effect the Conservative counterpart to the National Liberal Club. Its purpose-built clubhouse at 28 Northumberland Avenue opened in 1886. The club closed in 1979, and its remaining members merged with the St Stephen’s Club.
