Court of Appeal
editThe senior appellate court in England and Wales, hearing appeals from the High Court, Crown Court, and certain other courts and tribunals. It was established by the Judicature Act 1875, replacing several separate appellate jurisdictions. It consists of a Civil Division and a Criminal Division, each headed by a Lord Justice of Appeal. It sits below the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom, which is the final court of appeal for most cases.
