DCL

An abbreviation for Doctor of Civil Law, a higher doctorate awarded by several universities, particularly in Britain and the Commonwealth. At Oxford, the DCL is among the University’s most senior degrees and has traditionally recognised a substantial and distinguished contribution to legal scholarship.
