Faculty of Advocates

A self-regulating Scottish body based in Edinburgh which sets the standards a lawyer must meet for qualification to be admitted to practise as an advocate at the Scottish bar and argue cases in the country’s higher courts. It has a central role in maintaining the Scottish legal system as a separate system from the rest of the United Kingdom.
