Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians

edit

By John Simpson •

A physician elected to fellowship of a Royal College of Physicians. Historically, Fellows formed the governing body of the London College of Physicians, founded by Royal Charter in 1518, and enjoyed privileges exceeding those of members and licentiates. Today, fellowship is normally conferred by election in recognition of distinction and contribution to medicine. London Fellows may use the initials FRCP.
