Goldsmiths’ Exhibitioner

edit

By John Simpson •

A pupil or student awarded an exhibition by the Goldsmiths’ Company to support further education. Such awards were made at various schools and universities and occur frequently in nineteenth- and early twentieth-century educational records. The value and conditions of an exhibition, and the institution at which it was held, varied according to the particular award and period.
