New University Club

edit

By John Simpson •

A London gentlemen’s club founded in 1864 for graduates of Oxford and Cambridge. It initially occupied 57 St James’s Street, before moving in 1868 to a purpose-built clubhouse designed by Alfred Waterhouse, his first London clubhouse. The club closed in 1938, when it merged with the United University Club.
