Reform Bill
editA proposed law to reform parliamentary representation or voting rights, particularly one of the bills leading to the Reform Act 1832. That Act redistributed seats, abolished many rotten boroughs, and extended voting rights, chiefly to middle-class men. Further Reform Bills led to Acts in 1867 and 1884. The term properly denotes proposed legislation, rather than an Act already passed.
