Royal College of Physicians

edit

By John Simpson •

A professional body for physicians, concerned with medical standards, education, training, and examinations. The London College of Physicians was founded by Royal Charter in 1518, largely through the efforts of Thomas Linacre, its first president, and later became the Royal College of Physicians. Separate colleges developed in Edinburgh and Ireland. The London college is now based in Regent’s Park.
