St Alban Hall

An academic hall at the University of Oxford, occupying a site with medieval origins and traditionally associated with St Alban Hall, which was formally established as a university hall in the sixteenth century. It was attached to Merton College from the seventeenth century and became increasingly integrated with Merton. Under the University reforms of the nineteenth century, its separate existence was ended, and in 1881 St Alban Hall was incorporated into Merton College. Its students thereafter became members of Merton.
