Treasurer

A person responsible for the financial affairs of an organisation. At an Inn of Court, the Treasurer was the principal officer, elected annually from among the Benchers, and responsible for the government and administration of the Inn, as well as its finances. The office was honorary but carried an annual allowance, traditionally £100 in the nineteenth century.
