Vice-Chancellor
editA deputy to, or senior official acting under, a chancellor. At universities in Britain and elsewhere, including those established across the British Empire, the Vice-Chancellor became a leading academic or executive officer. The title also had judicial uses: the Vice-Chancellor of England was a senior Chancery judge, while the Duchy of Lancaster had its own Vice-Chancellor with judicial responsibilities.
